A total of $57,000 was donated to Jungle 13 beneficiaries AIDS Foundation Houston Stone Soup Program, Bering Omega Community Services, Casa de Esperanza, Houston Buyer’s Club and Montrose Clinic, exceeding the previous record of $48,000 set by Jungle 10 in 2002. Each of these Houston-area organizations provides direct services to persons afflicted with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Superstar DJ/Producer Tony Moran headlined this year’s main event, which returned to Verizon Wireless Theater the Saturday night before Easter, dazzling the crowded dance floor with one of the signature high-energy and technically flawless performances that have vaulted him to the top of the circuit DJ universe. Capping off the evening was a spirit-lifting performance by dance diva Kristine W who performed The Wonder of It All, her ninth consecutive number one single on Billboard’s Club Play Charts. Once again, BCBC partnered with local clubs and promoters to fill Easter weekend with special Jungle 13 events featuring some of the top DJ’s in the country at some of Houston’s hottest clubs. As in the past, the cost of the main event was completely underwritten by generous individual underwriters and corporate sponsors, allowing the organization to donate all of the proceeds from main event ticket sales to the beneficiaries. BCBC’s weekend partners donate a portion of the door proceeds from the events that they produce. BCBC is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization whose mission is to raise money for Houston area HIV/AIDS service providers, research and education.
